CSUN Establishes 50 Cross-Sector Collaborations to Advance Sustainability
The official launch marked an important step in CSUN’s mission to transform sustainability commitments into practical initiatives through strategic partnerships.
With 50 signed MOUs spanning 11 industry categories, CSUN established a collaborative network connecting organisations across corporate services, education, environmental management, technology, professional services, property, media and community development.
Among the participating organisations were EquitiesTracker Holdings Berhad, PMI Malaysia Chapter, Sustainable Business Network Association Malaysia (SustNET), Raffles University Centre of Professional Development, Asher Zero Sdn Bhd and Tiong & Associates.

These collaborations aim to encourage knowledge sharing, resource optimisation and joint sustainability initiatives, enabling organisations to contribute their expertise and capabilities towards shared environmental and social objectives.
By bringing together stakeholders from different industries, CSUN seeks to demonstrate how cross-sector partnerships can create opportunities for meaningful sustainability initiatives while encouraging greater participation from businesses and communities.
The signing of 50 MOUs represents an important foundation for future collaboration, reflecting the willingness of organisations from diverse backgrounds to work collectively towards environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
Turning Sustainability Commitments into Practical Action
Beyond establishing partnerships, CSUN’s grand launch highlighted several initiatives demonstrating how sustainability collaboration can be translated into practical action.
One initiative involved JME Group, through GZW RETURN – JME Experiences Sdn Bhd, Elevation Runway and Asher Zero Sdn Bhd, which supported the unveiling of CSUN’s Kinusaiga artwork and coordinated waste management during the event.
A dedicated team collected waste for processing through Asher Zero’s solution, with the aim of reducing landfill disposal and promoting responsible waste management practices.
CSUN also highlighted its commitment to community empowerment through plans to donate everyday essentials, including socks, to A Leap of Hope (ALOF) and AKRAB Resources.
Additionally, the association is exploring a uniform upcycling initiative with Caring Synergy Renal Sdn Bhd, aimed at extending the useful life of materials and encouraging sustainable resource management.
The launch also featured a charity auction in conjunction with Pink October, raising funds for CSUN beneficiaries while celebrating art and cultural heritage.
These initiatives reflect CSUN’s commitment to ensuring that sustainability extends beyond corporate discussions and becomes part of practical environmental and community development efforts.

Strengthening ESG Partnerships and Sustainability Governance
CSUN’s collaborative network also focuses on strengthening ESG awareness, professional development and organisational governance.
Its participation in PMI Malaysia Chapter’s PRISM IGNITE 2026 helped establish industry connections, leading to an MOU at the grand launch to advance ESG initiatives and knowledge sharing.
The event welcomed Dr Joel Carboni, Founder and President of Green Project Management (GPM), who brought an international perspective on sustainable project management.

Meanwhile, GROWWITHUS Sdn Bhd (Sensoria Kids) signed an MOU to promote sustainability awareness among children and families.
To strengthen governance and accountability, CSUN also welcomed Tiong & Associates as its pro bono legal partner, supporting the association’s efforts to establish responsible and structured sustainability collaborations.
Through these partnerships, CSUN aims to connect environmental responsibility with business operations, education and community engagement, establishing a collaborative ecosystem that encourages long-term sustainability practices.

CSUN Leadership Highlights the Importance of Cross-Sector Collaboration
Dr Wendy Liew, President of CSUN, highlighted the importance of collaboration in transforming sustainability commitments into meaningful outcomes.
Speaking at the grand launch, she said:
“We started CSUN with a simple belief: no one organisation can do everything, but everyone has something to contribute. Today, we have seen what is possible when people from different industries come together with a shared purpose. Our launch is only the beginning. The real work starts now, and together, we can turn these collaborations into meaningful and lasting impact.”
Her remarks reflected CSUN’s commitment to building partnerships that extend beyond formal agreements and translate into practical sustainability initiatives.
Anushya Safira, Vice President of Marketing at CSUN, emphasised the significance of bringing together 50 cross-sector collaborations and the opportunities these partnerships create for advancing sustainability initiatives.
She said:
“The signing of 50 MOUs represents more than just partnerships on paper. It reflects a shared commitment among organisations from different industries to work together towards meaningful sustainability goals. Through CSUN, we aim to connect businesses, communities and industry stakeholders, turning collaborative efforts into practical initiatives that promote environmental responsibility, upcycling and long-term community empowerment.”
She further highlighted CSUN’s ambition to become a collaborative platform where businesses, professional organisations and community groups can contribute their respective strengths towards shared sustainability objectives.
Through these partnerships, the association hopes to encourage greater participation in environmental initiatives while creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, innovation and community development.
Asia Record Recognises CSUN’s Cross-Sector Sustainability Achievement
A major highlight of the grand launch was CSUN’s official recognition by Asia Record for achieving “Most Cross-Sector Collaboration Network for a Sustainability Initiative.”
The recognition acknowledges CSUN’s achievement in establishing a network of 50 signed MOU collaborations across 11 industry categories, demonstrating the scale and diversity of its cross-sector sustainability initiative.
Dato KK Chua, Founder and Chief Adjudicator of Asia Record, congratulated CSUN on its official launch and record achievement, highlighting the importance of collective action in addressing sustainability challenges.
He said:
“What makes this achievement remarkable is CSUN’s ability to bring together 50 collaborations across 11 industry categories under one shared sustainability mission. This demonstrates how organisations from different sectors can unite their expertise, resources and networks to create meaningful opportunities for sustainable development. Asia Record is proud to recognise this milestone, and we hope it will inspire more organisations across Asia to embrace collaboration as a driving force for positive environmental and social impact.”

The recognition highlights the importance of cooperation in addressing environmental challenges, particularly through upcycling, circular economy practices, ESG initiatives and community empowerment.
By connecting organisations with diverse expertise and resources, CSUN demonstrates how cross-sector collaboration can create opportunities for innovation, knowledge exchange and practical sustainability initiatives.
The achievement also reinforces the importance of building partnerships that encourage organisations to work together towards common goals rather than approaching sustainability as an isolated responsibility.
A New Chapter for CSUN and Cross-Sector Sustainability
The official launch and Asia Record recognition mark the beginning of a new chapter for Corporate Sustainability & Upcycling Network (CSUN).

With its network of 50 MOU collaborations, the association aims to strengthen partnerships and translate shared sustainability commitments into practical initiatives that support environmental responsibility, circular economy practices and community development.
Moving forward, CSUN seeks to expand opportunities for collaboration, promote sustainability awareness and encourage more organisations to participate in initiatives that contribute towards long-term environmental and social progress.
The association’s guiding message, “Upcycling Today. Empowering Communities Tomorrow,” reflects its commitment to connecting sustainability with community empowerment.
As CSUN begins its journey following the grand launch, its Asia Record recognition serves as an important milestone, demonstrating the potential of collective action in advancing sustainable development.
Through continued collaboration among businesses, institutions and communities, CSUN hopes to create meaningful opportunities for organisations to contribute towards a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future in Malaysia and across Asia.
